KATHMANDU, Aug 9: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has called a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee before today's meeting after the obstruction in parliament was not removed.
Both houses of parliament are meeting today at 1PM. Before that, the Parliament Secretariat said that the Speaker called an executive meeting at 11:30AM. The meeting will be held at the Federal Parliament Building, New Baneshwar. Chief whips and whips of the political parties represented in the House along with the main opposition parties will participate in the meeting.
HoR Business Advisory Committee meeting commences
The main opposition party, CPN-UML, which is demanding the formation of a high-level probe committee in the 100 kg gold smuggling case, has been continuously obstructing the proceedings of parliament.
In Tuesday's meeting, Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha gave a response in this regard, but the Speaker adjourned the parliament meeting until today after UML lawmakers interrupted expressing dissatisfaction over the response of Minister Shrestha.
