KAPILVASTU, June 5: With 44 new cases of coronavirus today, Kapilvastu's COVID-19 tally has climbed to 475.
According to the District Health Office, Maharajgunj Municipality and Yashodhara Rural Municipality have witnessed 15 and 29 cases of COVID-19, respectively. All the infected persons are India-returnees, according to the local authorities. All of the infected patients are being kept in quarantine facilities.

As of today, Yasodhara Rural Municipality alone has reported 135 new cases of COVID-19 and Maharajgunj Municipality has 65 new cases of virus. Likewise, 54 persons were diagnosed with COVID-19 in Mayadevi, 48 in Shivaraj, 52 in Krishna Nagar, 29 in Suddhodhan, 29 in Kapilvastu, 25 in Buddhabhumi, 16 in Bijay Nagar and 22 in Bandganga. So far, 32 persons have been discharged after recovery in the district.
