UDAYAPUR, July 7: CPN-UML mayoral candidate Durga Kumar Karki has won the race for the mayor of Belka Municipality in Udayapur district defeating his nearest rival Nepali Congress Ashok Karki mayoral candidate with 5818 votes.

His nearest rival Ashok Karki garnered 5266 votes.
However, Nepali Congress has clinched the deputy mayoral post. Nepali Congress deputy mayoral candidate Deepa Rai has emerged victorious with 6286 votes against 5286 votes for her closest rival UML deputy mayoral candidate Ram Kumari Chaudhari.
