Sunsari recorded two more COVID-19-related deaths in past 24 hours

DHARAN, Oct 18: Two more coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Sunsari district in the past 24 hours.



A 73-year-old woman from Dharan Sub-metropolitan City who was staying isolated at home after testing positive for coronavirus died on Saturday evening.

She was taken to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) after she experienced breathing difficulties. But, she could not be admitted to the emergency ward of the hospital as ‘all beds were occupied’. Then, she was brought back home with oxygen support. However, she breathed her last immediately after reaching home.


According to local authorities, a team of Nepal Army is making preparations to dispose of her body.


Meanwhile, a 79-year-old man from Itahari-1 died of the coronavirus while undergoing treatment at BPKIHS on Sunday morning. The deceased was admitted to the hospital after testing positive for the virus last week. He was also a heart patient.
