KATHMANDU, Sept 4: The Nepali Congress (NC) has recommended Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, who was suspended as a member of parliament on the charge of corruption, as a candidate for the upcoming elections. He is facing a case at the Special Court on this charge.
The regional committee of Sunsari constituency no. 3 has unanimously recommended Gachchhadar's name as a candidate.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a case against him at the Special Court on the charge that he was involved in the transfer of the land of Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar in the name of individuals.
He was suspended from parliament in 2020 after a court case was registered against him on corruption charges.
