NC recommends Alam, who is facing trial for allegedly burning people alive in a brick kiln, from Rautahat-2

KATHMANDU, Sept 1: The Nepali Congress (NC) has recommended Mohammad Aftab Alam, who is currently in prison on the charge of burning some people in a brick kiln, as a candidate for the Rautahat Constituency No 2 for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives.

KATHMANDU, Sept 1: The Nepali Congress (NC) has recommended Mohammad Aftab Alam, who is currently in prison on the charge of burning some people in a brick kiln, as a candidate for the Rautahat Constituency No 2 for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives.



The Regional Committee of Nepali Congress Rautahat Constituency No. 2 has recommended Alam's name as the candidate for the HoR elections.

Alam was elected from Rautahat 2 to the House of Representatives of 2074 BS. He is currently under suspension after being arrested for being involved in bomb blasts and burning the injured person alive in a brick kiln.


A day before the 2008 Constituent Assembly elections, 24-year-old Trilok Pratap Singh and 22-year-old OC Akhtar of Saruatha were killed in a bomb blast at the house of Sheikh Idris on April 9, 2008. Alam is accused of burning the people injured in the blast alive in a brick kiln to hide the incident. The police arrested Alam in October 2019.
