Local authorities confiscate date expired food products

KAKARBHITTA (Jhapa), Sept 9: A government monitoring team has come across inedible food products being kept for sale in the marketplaces here. 



The Mechinagar municipality on Friday carried out surprise inspections of shops in Mechinagar in view of the forthcoming festival of Bada Dashain. 



The team led by municipal office's Food Section Official, Dipendra Karki, visited at least 20 shops in Dhulabari and the local marketplace, and confiscated the date expired food products. 



The team seized 25 liters of mustard oil, 17 kilograms of date expired stick noodles, 35 liters of drinks including fanta, sprite and coke, 29 kilograms of harmful colours used in food products and 14 kilograms of confections, Karki added. RSS
