Govt should accelerate work to provide relief to flood victims: Dahal

KATHMANDU, August 8: Former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his dissatisfaction over the government’s failure to accelerate the work for providing relief supplies to flood and landslide victims of Melamchi in Sindhupalchowk.

KATHMANDU, August 8: Former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his dissatisfaction over the government’s failure to accelerate the work for providing relief supplies to flood and landslide victims of Melamchi in Sindhupalchowk.



During a meeting held at his residence in Khumaltar with some of the victims of the natural disasters on Sunday morning, Dahal expressed dissatisfaction over the government's failure to initiate any kind of work related to natural disasters even though Sindhupalchowk is declared a disaster-affected area.

“Although the government has declared Sindhupalchowk and Manang as disaster-affected areas, no work related to the follow up of the declaration has been given priority,” Dahal said. He also expressed his party’s commitment to motivate the government to provide relief to victims of natural disasters.
