The winter session of parliament started on September 8. However, the session could not function smoothly due to continued obstruction by the main opposition party, CPN-UML. Despite this, the house session ratified the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) grant agreement and an impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana was registered in parliament.
