RASUWA, July 8: Flood triggered by torrential rainfall has obstructed the road connecting Rasuwagadhi border with the rest of the country.
A section of the Mailung-Syafrungbesi road, the shortest route to connect with China, was obstructed after the flood damaged the road near Thulokhola area. According to District Police Office (DPO), Rasuwa, vehicles are running along the old route of Betrawati-Dhunche road following the obstruction.

Police Inspector Ishwari Prasad Bhandari informed Republica that efforts are underway to repair the damaged road. "We are coordinating with the responsible authority to make sure that the road gets repaired on time," said Bhandari, adding, " Closure of this road section has increased the number of vehicles in Betrawati-Dhunche road."
The Galchi-Trishuli-Mailung-Syafrubesi-Rasuwagadhi road project has stated that it might take around three months to repair the road section. Narayandatta Bhandari, chief of the project, says there is high risk of landslides in the road during the monsoon. As there is an alternative route to connect Rasuwagadhi border, he says it will be better if the damaged road is not used until September.
