RASUWA, Sept 3: The road leading up to Rasuwagadhi border point in the northern frontier is all set to reopen on Monday.
The road recently damaged by the flood in the Trishuli River is all set to open after a landmass which blocked the road at Khopangbhir of Gosainkunda Rural Municipality was blasted off by the Nepal Army on Sunday.

Sheetal Baniya Chhetri, chief of Kalijung Battalion which had been working to reopen the road section, said that vehicular movement along the road can resume from Monday. He added that the workforce mobilized to reopen the road need to work for three more hours in order to reopen the road section.
“We had estimated that the work would take about a week to be completed,” he said, adding, “However, due to the advanced technology that we used, the work has been completed way before the estimated timeframe.”
A combined team of Nepal Army from Kalijung Battalion and a team mobilized by the Divisional Road Office had started working on the road section on August 31. The joint team estimated to complete the repair work in two weeks ended up completing the work in just three days.
The Rasuwagadhi border point has been in use since December 2015 after the Tatopani border point was closed due to the devastating earthquakes in 2015. The border point links Nepal with China and is a vital road for international trade on the northern side.
