Constitutional Council meeting summoned for Wednesday

KATHMANDU, Aug 6: The meeting of the Constitutional Council has been called for Wednesday. It has been reported that the meeting is summoned to recommend the name for the new chief justice of the country.

KATHMANDU, Aug 6: The meeting of the Constitutional Council has been called for Wednesday. It has been reported that the meeting is summoned to recommend the name for the new chief justice of the country. The meeting has been called after the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee refused the acting chief justice Deepak Raj Joshee for the post of CJ.

The Judicial Council has already recommended the name of the justice duo Om Prakash Mishra and Cholendra Shamsher Rana of the Supreme Court to the constitutional council. Prime Minister is the chairman of the council whereas Speaker, Chairman of the National Assembly, Minister for Law and the main opposition leader are the member of the council.
