Candidacy of all four vice presidential candidates upheld

KATHMANDU, March 12:  The candidacy of all four candidates for the post of vice president has been upheld.

KATHMANDU, March 12:  The candidacy of all four candidates for the post of vice president has been upheld.



As none of the candidates withdrew their candidacy at the time of withdrawal fixed by the Election Commission, the candidacy of the four candidates registered on Saturday remains valid for the vice presidential election.

Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav and Pramila Kumari Yadav have been nominated from Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) for  the post of vice president.  


After Ram Sahaya’s candidacy was confirmed, JSP leaders held a meeting at Singha Durbar to withdraw Pramila's candidacy, but they could not take a decision on time. The time for withdrawing the candidacy is already over.


Similarly, Mamata Jha of Janamat Party and Astalaxmi Shakya of CPN-UML are the other candidates for vice president.
