Youths have accepted KP Oli  as the father of the nation: Basnet

KATHMANDU, Nov 23: CPN-UML leader and former minister Mahesh Basnet has announced his candidacy for the post of secretary in the party’s upcoming 10th General Convention.

KATHMANDU, Nov 23: CPN-UML leader and former minister Mahesh Basnet has announced his candidacy for the post of secretary in the party’s upcoming 10th General Convention. 



Speaking with media persons on Tuesday, Basnet announced his candidacy for CPN-UML’s secretary. He also claimed that KP Sharma Oli will be elected as the chairman of the party unanimously through the 10th General Convention of the party.

“The youth have already accepted KP Oli as the father of the nation. I am confident that the general convention will elect him as the party's chairman again,” Basnet said. 


Furthermore, Basnet also suggested to Bhim Rawal to withdraw his candidacy for the party’s leadership stating that his announcement did not send a good message. Basnet said that Rawal should withdraw his decision to stop further damage to the communist movement.
