TAPLEJUNG, Jan 29: A woman who had gone to her maternal home with her 23-day-old baby has been found dead.
Yamuna Bhurtel Chapagai who had gone to Phulwari, Ward No. 2 of Atharai Triveni Rural Municipality of Taplejung from Nagi, Yangwarak Rural Municipality ward no. 6, Panchthar was found dead.

The condition of the child with her is unknown. Locals said that jackets, bags and mobile phones were found near the Mitla Bridge on the bank of the Tamor River.
District Police Office Taplejung Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rajan Limbu said that the woman was found dead and the whereabouts of the child was not known yet.
He said that a police team has been mobilized to the scene under the leadership of a police inspector and the local residents and the police team are continuing to search for the child.
He also said that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
