Currently, Nepal reports approximately 100 typhoid infections per one million people. Alarmingly, according to statistics from GAVI, the incidence of typhoid infections in children under 15 years of age in Nepal is eleven times higher than in the general population.

It's worth noting that typhoid is caused by Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi, which is typically found in contaminated drinking water sources.
