KATHMANDU, Jan 17: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested a ward member of Rajapur Municipality-10 in Bardiya on the charge of taking bribe of Rs 250,000.

Acting on a tip-off, an anti-graft team deployed from CIAA, Butwal chapter arrested ward member of Rajapur Muicipality-10, Uttam Chaudhary for taking Rs 250,000 in kickback from service seekers promising help for registration of a crosser plant, the CIAA said in a press release issued today.
The anti-graft body has filed a corruption case at the Special Court, Kathmandu against Chaudhari in line with the Corruption Prevention Act, 2002 (3) (1).
