KATHMANDU, June 29: Vote counting began in various local units after the successful voting in the second phase of the local level elections.



Nepali Congress has taken initial lead in Shikhar Rural Municipality of Doti, Tribeni Susta, Palhinandan and Pratappur of Nawalparasi, Badimalika of Bajura, Melauli of Baitadi, Siddarthanagar of Rupandehi and Chandrakot of Gulmi.

In Kalali, Nepal Democratic Forum led by Bijay Gachchhadar has taken initial lead in four local units while RPP has taken initial lead in one unit.


CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) has taken initial lead in one local unit each.
