VNY welcomed at Bouddhanath lighting 10,000 candles ( with photos)

KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Bouddhanath Development Committee has welcomed Visit Nepal Year 2020 formally by lighting ten thousand of candles on Bouddhanath premises on Thursday evening.

KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Bouddhanath Development Committee has welcomed Visit Nepal Year 2020 formally by lighting ten thousand of candles on Bouddhanath premises on Thursday evening.



On the occasion, the visitors were provided with an opportunity to light candles for free. On other days, those willing to light candles are required to pay Rs 15 to 100 depending on the size of candles.

Bouddhanath is one of the cultural heritages enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Every year millions of visitors offer prayers at Bouddhanath Stupa. It is one of the most visited religious and tourism sites in Kathmandu Valley.

Similarly, BDC informed that Boudhanath will witness various cultural programs every evening in the first week of VNY 2020.


Furthermore, the committee urged one and all to cooperate with the government to make the VNY successful from their corners.
