In Kathmandu Triennale 2077, one can witness works by artists working with and from within multiple aesthetic, and cosmological viewpoints and meanings, expressing multiplicities that compose the multifaceted global reality.
Artistic expression of existentialism on display
‘Kathmandu Triennale 2077’ is jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation in Nepal and Siddhartha Arts Foundation.
The triennale is spread around five different venues—Patan Museum, Bahadur Shah Baithaik, Nepal Art Council, Siddhartha Art Gallery, and Taragaon Museum, which consists of more than 130 artists' 300 plus artworks, from 40 different countries.
At Patan Museum, Kathmandu Triennale 2077 presents a conversation, built on both confrontation and harmony, between different lineages of artistic grammar; from paubha painting and East Asian ink, to amulet making and hair braiding around the world.
At Bahadur Shah Baithak, one can encounter artworks that connect the bodies, their insides, the networked maps of the social worlds, and the cosmos with its frightening designs.
The physical exhibition of Kathmandu Triennale 2077 began on March 1 and continues till March 31. All venues are open seven days a week except Sundari Chowk in Patan Museum.
