Valley schools allowed to resume physical classes from September 17

KATHMANDU, September 6: Local administration in Kathmandu has decided to allow schools and colleges that are operating online classes to run physical classes starting from September 17.

A meeting of the guardians, teachers, students and chiefs of education department of all local levels in the district held under the chair of Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Kali Prasad Parajuli on Monday afternoon decided to allow schools to run physical classes.


The meeting has decided to allow schools to run physical classes as per the decision made by the Municipal Education Committee after assessing the situation of COVID-19. The decision comes amid complaints that the quality of teaching learning activity of children had significantly degraded due to online classes. There is also complaint that less than 40 percent children are attending the online classes.
