Upper Trishuli 3A shut down after mentally unstable man climbs on overhead high tension electrical lines

KATHMANDU, June 11: A mentally unstable man has been walking on electric cables since 10AM this morning in Nuwakot. The local people as well as police have been surprised by this incident.

KATHMANDU, June 11: A mentally unstable man has been walking on electric cables since 10AM this morning in Nuwakot. The local people as well as police have been surprised by this incident.



According to the District Police Office, Maila BK, 44, of Ghalegaun, Belkotgadhi Municipality-13 has been walking on high tension overhead electrical cables since this morning after he climbed an overhead power line located at Kakani Rural Municipality-7.

Similarly, the Upper Trishuli 3A Hydropower Project with a capacity of 60 MW has been shut down after this incident. Nepal Electricity Authority has stated that there is a problem in power management after the closure of the hydropower project. 


Meanwhile, the police are trying to lure him to bring him to the ground. According to police, BK is mentally unstable. The locals had informed the police after they saw him walking on the high tension cables. Attempts are being made to bring him to the ground, police said.
