BARA, Nov 25: Achyut Prasad Mainali of CPN-UML has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Bara-1.

He defeated the Minister of Water Supply and Nepali Congress Joint General Secretary Umakant Chaudhary.
Mainali got 39,195 votes, while his nearest rival Chaudhary got 30,056 votes. Similarly, Ganesh Dhimal of Rashtriya Swatantra Party got 3,318 votes.
