Two go missing in river in Darchula

KHALANGA, May 27: Two people - a woman and a six-year-old boy - have gone missing since last night after they were swept away by a river in Marma Rural Municipality-5.

KHALANGA, May 27: Two people - a woman and a six-year-old boy - have gone missing since last night after they were swept away by a river in Marma Rural Municipality-5.



According to the Information Officer of the District Police Office, Darchula, Inspector Gyanendra Bahadur Singh, Jhupa Tamta, 25, and Ain BK, 6, went missing while crossing Ganyad river in Marma Rural Municipality-5, Murai last night. They are aunt and nephew in relation.

The incident occurred as the two were trying to cross the river that had swelled after the rains, said Marma Rural Municipality-5 Ward Chairman Surendra Mahata. 


A police squad from the Area Police Office, Latinath, has been mobilized to undertake a search and rescue operation for the missing.
