Two killed, 17 injured in Tanahu bus accident

TANAHU, Jan 10: Two people killed and 17 others sustained injuries when a passenger bus met with an accident at Thanimai of Ghiring rural municipality-3 in Tanahu district on Friday.

TANAHU, Jan 10: Two people killed and 17 others sustained injuries when a passenger bus met with an accident at Thanimai of Ghiring rural municipality-3 in Tanahu district on Friday.



The incident occurred when the bus (Ga 1 Kha 6175) en route to Pokhara from Palpa skidded off the highway and plunged into a gorge.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Lilaraj Lamichhane, 20-year-old Muna Thapa died on the spot and Nanimaya Gurung, 42, of Ghiring who was critically injured in the incident breathed her last while undergoing treatment at Fishtail Hospital in Pokhara.



Laimchhane informed that the injured passengers are undergoing treatment at Manipal Hospital in Pokhara.  "They are out of danger now," he said.


The police are launching a probe into the incident.
