KOHALPUR, Nov 6: In its attempt to minimize corruption, the Transport Management Office (TMO), Nepalganj has kept its officials and service seekers under the surveillance of 11 CCTV cameras.
According to Mukunda Raj KC, a clerk at the TMO, CCTV cameras were installed on Sunday at various departments of the office including administration, finance, license, reception, and the TMO premises.

“If any suspicious activities or irregularities by TMO staffers are noticed, action will be taken immediately, said KC quoting top TMO officials. "The cameras will record any crime or suspicious behaviour round-the-clock.”
He further added that the unnecessary crowding on the office premises have declined after the cameras were installed.
According to the chief of the TMO, Binod Kumar Pokharel, the CCTV cameras will discourage illegal activities and middle-men in the office. “The positive impacts of CCTV monitoring were visible on the very first day.”
The CCTV recordings will be monitored both by the chief of TMO and the Department of Transportation, according to officials.
