KATHMANDU, Oct 7: The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Customs Office has issued a request to passengers arriving from abroad and Nepali citizens residing overseas.
They are advised not to carry specific items, including emergency lights, power banks, irons, hair dryers, mixers (grinders), and water extraction machines in their luggage.

The TIA Customs Office has emphasized that these items can raise concerns when passing through X-ray machines during security inspections. Consequently, such items may be subject to thorough inspection, causing inconvenience to passengers. As a preventive measure, passengers are encouraged not to carry these items when traveling to Nepal and are also advised against sending them through cargo shipments to their families.
Dr. Tokraj Pandey, Head of the Customs Office, has appealed to passengers to avoid bringing these items as much as possible, as they can lead to delays and additional checks when detected by X-ray machines.
