KATHMANDU, August 9: A three-year-old girl drowned in a pond at Terohata of Rupani Rural Municipality-5 in Saptari today.
Deepika Chaudhary, daughter of Amrika Devi Chaudhary of Rupani Rural Municipality-6 drowned in the pond as she was believed to reached there in course of playing.
The mother had gone to her maternal home to celebrate the Rakshabandhan (Rakhi) that was observed on August 7, leaving the child with her family.
The dead body has been brought to the Rajbiraj-based Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital for a post-mortem and the police are investigating the case, the District Police Office, Saptari said. RSS
