Three more Nepalis die of COVID-19 abroad

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: Three more Nepalis succumbed to the coronavirus infection abroad last week, according to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: Three more Nepalis succumbed to the coronavirus infection abroad last week, according to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).



NRNA Health Committee Press Coordinator Chiran Sharma said that two Nepalis died in the UK and one in Portugal last week. With this, the number of Nepalis who died in various 21 countries abroad has reached 339 till Saturday evening. 


Similarly, COVID-19 has been reported in 62,401 Nepalis in 53 countries so far. Among them, 60,124 Nepalis have recovered, shared coordinator Sharma, adding this puts the recovery rate among the Nepalis abroad at 96.3 per cent.

Italy and Ukraine had reported first cases of COVID-19 among Nepalis, according to NRNA.


In Nepal, the COVID-19 caseload stands at 274,065. Among them, 270,325 have fully recovered taking the recovery rate to 98.6 per cent. 


COVID-19 fatalities have crossed 2,500 in Nepal.
