KATHMANDU, Jun 6: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has said that there are primarily three groups that have been posing security challenges to the country.

Speaking at a press conference organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs in Singha Durbar on Wednesday, Home Minister Thapa said there are three groups posing internal security challenges to the country – political, religious and armed groups - as concluded by the security meetings held in all the seven provinces recently.

Thapa claimed that Biplab-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) is a politically extremist group that has been posing a threat to the country by forming a parallel government.

Similarly, armed groups led by CK Raut, Goit and Jwala are the other internal security challenges that have been trying to destabilize the state, Thapa added.

According to Thapa, these extremist forces have been detonating bombs, demanding Hindu State, conspiring against the nation and are trying to build churches across the country.
