Over 92,000 students attending EPS-KLT examination

KATHMANDU, June 8: The Korean Language Test under the Employment Permit System (EPS)  started on Saturday. The examination will conclude on Sunday.

KATHMANDU, June 8: The Korean Language Test under the Employment Permit System (EPS)  started on Saturday. The examination will conclude on Sunday. 



The EPS-KLT examination is being held in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

More than 92,000 young candidates had filed up the form for the EPS-KLT examination this year. This is the highest number of applicants for the examination since 2008, according to officials. 


Out of the total applicants, 10,000 youths will be selected this year who will go to South Korea for job opportunities in 2020 intake. 


Korea has increased the number of quotas for Nepali workers this year.  This year, Korea is receiving 10, 050 Nepali workers who passed the EPS-KLT examination last year. 


Last year, the Korean government had selected 8,000 Nepali workers under the EPS. A total of 7050 will be taken for the manufacturing sector whereas 3,000 will be taken for agriculture and husbandry sector.
