There hasn’t been any deal on SPP with US Army or Govt: Nepal Army

KATHMANDU, June 15: The Nepal Army (NA) has made it clear that it has not entered into any agreement with either the US Army or the US government regarding the Strategic Partnership Program (SPP).

KATHMANDU, June 15: The Nepal Army (NA) has made it clear that it has not entered into any agreement with either the US Army or the US government regarding the Strategic Partnership Program (SPP).



Releasing a press statement on Wednesday evening, NA claimed that it has not entered into any agreement or understanding with the US Army or the government regarding the SPP and no process to reach such an agreement has been initiated so far.

Similarly, according to NA, it has always been clear and aware of the objective that no military partnership should be done with anyone in the future, adversely affecting Nepal's non-aligned foreign policy, special geopolitical position and strategic sensitivities.


“Nepal Army is always clear about and aware of the objective reality of not entering into any military partnership with any one in the future such that it has an adverse impact on the non-aligned foreign policy adopted by Nepal, its special geopolitical position and strategic sensitivities,” reads the statement issued by the Nepal Army.
