KATHMANDU, March 31:President Ramchandra Paudel has appointed Sunil Thapa as Chief Political Advisor. Thapa is a central member of the Nepali Congress (NC).

Similarly, President Paudel has appointed former Attorney General Baburam Kunwar as his legal adviser and former Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Chiranjibi Nepal as his economic adviser. President Paudel previously appointed Dr. Suresh Chandra Chalise as Principal Private Secretary.
The President and Vice President's Remuneration and Benefits Act, 2074 has provisions regarding the services provided to them. According to the Act, the President can appoint seven experts to assist him in his official works.
