KATHMANDU, Jan 5: There is a possibility of light snowfall in some places of Koshi and Gandaki region today.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is currently a partial influence of western winds in Nepal.
The weather is generally clear in the hilly areas of the country while the rest of the country is partly cloudy. Many places in Terai are covered with fog.

This afternoon, the weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces, the weather will remain generally clear in the rest of the areas. There is also a possibility of light snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

The rest of the region will likely remain generally clear, with the possibility of light snowfall in select areas within the high hills and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
Sunday night is forecasted to be partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, while the remainder of the region experiences generally clear weather. There is a continued possibility of light snowfall in select areas within the high hills and Himalayan regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
The MFD advises the public to exercise caution against the cold, particularly in the highlands and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali regions, as well as some parts of Terai, due to light snowfall and mist/fog.
