BHAKTAPUR, Oct 3: Surya Binayak remains tense following a clash between demonstrators and the police over a road accident that led to the death of a local resident here this evening.

A motorcycle rider Ram Krishna Shrestha of Namobuddha died on the spot after being hit by a tipper truck, according to Metropolitan Police Range Bhaktapur. Following the accident, agitated locals set the truck on fire while its driver fled from the scene.
The clash between locals and the police began after the latter tried to put off the fire that had engulfed the truck. Police resorted to lathi charge and fired tear gas shells to bring the crowd under control. The area remained tense as of 8:30 pm. RSS
