Stability in Nepal hinges on the ability of major parties to address issues of Madhesi people: Chairman Thakur

KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Chairman of the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Mahantha Thakur, has said that issues of Madhesi people would burst if they are not addressed on time.

KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Chairman of the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Mahantha Thakur, has said that issues of Madhesi people would burst if they are not addressed on time.



Addressing the inaugural session of the 14th General Convention of Nepali Congress held in Kathmandu on Friday, Chairman Thakur appreciated the role of NC to establish democracy in the country. Arguing that it is important to ensure stability in the party to ensure stability of the government, he said that stability of the country largely hinges on the ability of the major political parties in the country to address the concerns of Madhesi people.

Thakur mentioned that Madhesi people had launched street protests right since the new constitution was promulgated. He also expressed dissatisfaction over the failure of the government to release innocent party leaders and cadres currently serving jail terms in fake cases.
