SP Bista suspended; DSP and Inspector pulled back to headquarter

KATHMANDU, Aug 25: Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has decided to suspend SP Dilli Raj Bista from the post for his alleged negligence in the investigation of Nirmala Panta rape-murder case.

KATHMANDU, Aug 25: Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has decided to suspend SP Dilli Raj Bista from the post for his alleged negligence in the investigation of Nirmala Panta rape-murder case.



The meeting held at the MoHA on Saturday decided to suspend SP Bista till the completion of the investigation by the committee formed by the government.

SP Bista was pulled back to the police headquarters two days back.


Similarly, MoHA has decided to pull back DSP Gyan Bahadur Sethi and Inspector Ekendra Khadka to the police headquarters. Locals have accused all three officials of framing a mentally retarded man and falsely charging him for the crime.  


Earlier, the ministry had formed a committee led by Joint Secretary Hari Prasad Mainali in which DIGs of all three security forces are members.
