Souls of My City: Memorable slap

Sometime during the evening last week, I spotted two young men around Hanuman Dhokha . 19-year-old Manish Shrestha, an art student, was preparing his canvas, and 20-year-old Kamal Sherpa, a photography student, was clicking photos of his surroundings.

The duo says they have been together since their school days. They both have a common incident closest to their heart. Taking turns, they shared, “This is an incident of the 10th standard.  We weren’t paying attention in class from the very beginning. Suddenly, we found a joke on diarrhea, and both of us burst into laughter. The teacher, outraged by our ill manners, gave us a nasty smack each. We were in tears. But our eyes met again, we couldn't stop but continue laughing hysterically.”

Kamal is a China returnee and is currently studying fine arts in Lalitkala, and Shrestha is a design apprentice. The latter had tried for Australia but decided to stay back seeing a better-scope designing career back home had.
