Duty of labor

Tula Bahadur Rokaya, 42, is a laborer from Jajarkot. He had arrived in Kathmandu a few months ago to work as a daily wage laborer for the ring road construction project. Before moving to Kathmandu, he used to visit Shimla of India in search of seasonal jobs. He used to pluck apples in Shimla. “Though the income is better in India, I came to Kathmandu in search of work as it is not the season of apples,” he said.  He gets Rs 650 as daily wage and he works for eight hours a day. After the project is finished, Rokaya has no plans to stay in Kathmandu and wants to return his family as soon as possible.
