KIMATHANKA (Sankhuwasabha), Jan 28: Snowfall in the highland of Sankhuwasabha district has adversely affected normal life of people.



It has been snowing with light rain in the upper parts of the district since Friday evening.

Daily activities have come to a halt temporarily as life has been difficult for the local residents following the heavy snowfall. Grounds in the northern area of the district such as Kimathanka checkpoint, Makalu base camp, Tinjure Gufa Pokhari, Mangalbare are covered with snow due to snowfall.


Locals said that the snowfall continues in those areas since they are witnessing light rainfall. The temperature has dropped sharply in the highland due to snowfall especially affecting children, elderly people and cattle.


Commoners have not been able to leave their houses due to the biting cold.
