KATHMANDU, Jan 14: CPN-UML's Sirjana Danuwar has been elected as the Deputy Speaker of Province 1 Assembly. She was elected with 57 votes.
Leela Kumari Rai of Nepali Congress (NC), who got the support of CPN (United Socialist) got 33 votes. Both Danuwar and Rai belong to Ward No 9 of Triyuga Municipality of Udayapur. Both are proportionally elected members.

There are 93 members in the provincial assembly including 40 from UML, 29 from Congress, 13 from CPN-Maoist Center, six from Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), four from Unified Socialists and one from Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP).
