KATHMANDU, July 28: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Thursday registered a graft case at the special court against seven individuals, including Acting Administrative Officer of Shailyashikhar municipality of Darchula, Surendra Bahadur Bista.
According to CIAA Spokesperson Bhola Dahal, the graft case was registered for alleged corruption on the construction of Boharigaun road section in ward 7 and 8 of the municipality.

It was alleged that over payment was made against performance by showing a higher quantity of hard rock in the cost estimate of the road construction.
The anti-graft body has claimed a fine over Rs 2.6 million against acting chief administration officer Bista. Likewise, the CIAA has sought a fine amounting over Rs 1.13 million from engineer Santosh Pandey, Rs 1.47 million from engineer Rahendra Singh Dhami, Rs 2.6 million from sub-engineer Deepak Singh Bista.
CIAA sources said a charge sheet was registered against Chairperson of Bantoli Bagaura Road Construction Users' Committee Janakraj Joshi, Secretary Dhananjaya Joshi and Treasurer Janaki Badu Joshi claiming Rs 2.6 million as fine.
