SC orders police to produce Secretary Raut in court within 24 hours

KATHMANDU, July 13: The Supreme Court has ordered the police to produce Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut, who was arrested in connection with the Lalita Niwas land-grab scam, before the court within 24 hours.

KATHMANDU, July 13: The Supreme Court has ordered the police to produce Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut, who was arrested in connection with the Lalita Niwas land-grab scam, before the court within 24 hours.



The bench of Justice Til Prasad Shrestha ordered the police to present Secretary Raut before the court within 24 hours.

A few days ago, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested Secretary Raut from Kathmandu Airport when he was going to Biratnagar.


The CIB alleges that Raut, who was the section officer at the time, raised a comment in the case that the government land of Lalita Niwas had been acquired and registered in the name of an individual.


After his arrest, a custodial writ was filed at the Supreme Court for illegal detention.
