Private hospitals asked not to charge additional fees on COVID-19 pretext

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: The Ministry of Health and Population has directed the private hospitals not to charge additional fees to the patients in the name of health care services on the pretext of COVID-19 treatment.

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: The Ministry of Health and Population has directed the private hospitals not to charge additional fees to the patients in the name of health care services on the pretext of COVID-19 treatment.



The ministry came up with this directive as the complaints against additional fees imposed by some private hospitals were reported in recent time.

Assistant spokesperson for the Ministry, Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari said that the hospitals would face music as per the laws if they were found collecting additional fees from the patients under the pretext of COVID-19.



The Ministry's serious attention has been drawn to this issue as some private hospitals have been charging additional fees in all sorts of health care services under the pretext of COVID-19, Dr Adhikari said issuing a notice.
