KATHMANDU, June 7: The government has announced a public holiday on coming Sunday or June 9 to be effective in the Kathmandu Valley to observe the Bhoto Jatra.

A decorated vest considered to be of the Rato Machhindranath, the Hindu deity who is worshipped as deity of good harvest and rainfall, will be displayed on Sunday in Lalitpur.
In a public notice today, the Ministry of Home Affairs declared the public holiday only inside the Kathmandu Valley on the day.
