Provide relief to public suffering from fuel price hike: Gagan Thapa

KATHMANDU, June 3: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has urged the government to immediately provide relief to the general public, who are suffering from the hike in fuel prices.

KATHMANDU, June 3: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has urged the government to immediately provide relief to the general public, who are suffering from the hike in fuel prices.



Stating that the hike in fuel prices will create further challenges in the upcoming days, Thapa drew the attention of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to work at a highly strategic level to control it. Speaking in parliament demanding immediate reversal of the rise in prices of petroleum products, he urged PM Deuba not to let any ministry ignore this issue.

General Secretary Thapa also suggested the government introduce a Petroleum Product Act to solve the problem. He said that the government should start making efforts from today to make Nepal free from petroleum products in the next 10 years.


He also said that the government should focus on increasing the country’s storage capacity of petroleum products.
