President Bhandari approves army deployment during elections

KATHMANDU, Sept 25: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has approved the deployment of the army for the elections to the House of Representatives and provincial assemblies slated for November 20.

KATHMANDU, Sept 25: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has approved the deployment of the army for the elections to the House of Representatives and provincial assemblies slated for November 20.

On Sunday, Sagar Acharya, a spokesperson for the President's Office, through a press release, said that based on the National Security Council meeting on September 2 and the recommendation of the Council of Ministers on September 2 and the letter of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, President Bhandari has approved the deployment of the army on the election day in accordance with Article 66, Clause (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
