Pokhara Metropolis to ban parking in market area starting Feb 6

POKHARA, Jan 31: The Pokhara Metropolitan city has announced a ban on parking in the main market area.



The metropolis in a notice issued on Monday decided to prohibit parking in the main urban areas such as Prithvi Chowk, Sabhagriha Chowk, New Road, VP Chowk, Chipledhunga, Mahendrapul, Naya Bazar and Prithvi Chowk road sections starting February 6.

Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City Dhanraj Acharya stated that parking has been fully banned in those areas due to increased flow of vehicles and impact on vehicular movement.


The notice also states that parking can be done in the vacant land reserved for parking purposes by the metropolis in and around the main road. All stakeholders have been requested to manage 'parking' only in the areas specified in the notice.
