PM to hold cabinet thru video conference

KATHMANDU, August 22: The government has decided to hold cabinet meetings through video conferencing when Prime Minister KP Oli is away from Kathmandu.

This comes a day before the prime minister leaves for Singapore for further treatment. On August 3, the prime minister had visited Singapore for ten days for medical checkup. He had undergone a kidney transplant surgery 12 years ago and is on kidney enhancement drug therapy. 


A cabinet meeting on Wednesday decided to bring the necessary amendment to the Cabinet Meeting Operation Regulations in order to pave the way for holding cabinet meeting through teleconferencing, according to a cabinet minister. This is the first time the government has decided to hold cabinet meeting through video conferencing.
