PHC approves names of all six proposed SC justices

KATHMANDU, Dec 20: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) has approved all six proposed Supreme Court (SC) justices for appointment.

KATHMANDU, Dec 20: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) has approved all six proposed Supreme Court (SC) justices for appointment.



In a meeting held on Tuesday, the PHC endorsed the names put forward by the Judicial Council for the appointment of SC justices, namely Saranga Subedi, Abdul Aziz Muslim, Mahesh Sharma Poudel, Tek Prasad Dhungana, Sunil Pokharel, and Bal Krishna Dhakal.

Lila Nath Shrestha, a member of the PHC, confirmed that all six people recommended for the position of SC justices received approval.


Now, the newly appointed justices will assume their roles after taking the oath of office and secrecy from the President.


The hearing process for the proposed justices started last Friday and ended on Monday. A meeting of the PHC has been  again today to approve the names.
